Merrell Diorama CE: Memories of Life by 11KairiMayumi11 Merrell Diorama CE: Memories of Life by 11KairiMayumi11
After a week's time of making it, This is for the Merrell's Favorite Fall Memory Diorama Contest hosted here on DeviantArt! \\ ( o _^)//

As you can see, this is quite different from the typical Autumn season holidays that can either be Thanksgiving, Halloween or even just by having vacations while walking and relaxing with some fallen leaves on the side. Because from where I'm from, we hardly celebrate those kind of festivities. We do however have a different way of celebrating Fall. It's been our tradition to go visit our deceased loved ones in a memorial park. You must be wondering what's so special about it and why only in Autumn's time when we can go visit the cemetery any time, aren't you? It's more than just our country's culture. For me, it's a very special holiday where different people across the nation, even around the world come and gather together. No matter what distance or where they are, No matter how busy everyone is in our fast changing world, most of my fellow countrymen and I could always find time to celebrate this once in a year occasion and and it's always been my favorite time of the year.

Why? Well Aside from being reunited with our long lost yet unforgotten beloved ones, we are also reunited with other people from different parts of the world visiting their loved one's graves and even though we aren't related to one another and are even complete strangers, what make this holiday more exciting and fun is that we usually hang around and talked like we've been best friends for a very long time, even though we only see each other either once or twice a year. Telling different stories from what happened in a year's time, introducing new members of the family, discussing other random things and even sharing or trading each other's bought home cooked meals and snacks. But the most important part is praying for the souls of the departed and pray that they'll continue their peaceful slumber and to give us guidance from above.

Though... it isn't always an all fun holiday, since it isn't rare seeing other people lost a love one during this holiday too. With that, this season always makes me quite sensitive, it gives me a deeper understanding of life and it reminds me how we should also use the time we have left in the world with our loved one's side to it's best and fullest since nothing last forever. But looking around the memorial, seeing new faces each year, I also remind myself that even though it's unavoidable to lost someone valuable and irreplaceable to us, we have to look forward to seeing my and our friends new relatives now and in the years to come. Thinking of all this, it gave me the idea to turn this precious holiday memory of mine to this very diorama.

Listening to what my family suggest I do, I tried my best to make a small diorama of the memorial park we usually visit. Together with the memories I've experience throughout the years. I hope that even just by looking through the diorama I made can tell you the story behind it. They're all the precious memories of life I had that help made me who I am now.

Thank you for your time and attention for viewing this. I'd love to know how you've thought of this so feedback would be most wonderful.

If you wish to find out the process of how I did this and the materials I've used, please check out this link, [link] I've originally planned to add it on the description here but since it's too long, I fear that it may bore you. So I separated it and placed it on sta.sh. :aww:

Another reason why I love this holiday is because it's a sign that my Birthday is near. This holiday is usually celebrated either on October 31st up to November 2. Amusingly, My Birthday is on the 11th of November and I'm turning 19 this year. Sigh... I'm getting old. ^^;

Just another random side note, The title was inspired by listening to the Full Soundtrack of Final Fantasy IX while I wrote this and I thought it fits well. :lol:

~~ Thank you ~~

Thank you so much, I'm very happy to know that you think so. It wasn't easy to attach them all together though. Most of the parts, especially adding the rocks on the small gate kept falling of or it would rather stick to me when I glued them. If you could see me, I honestly look ludicrous and silly when I was doing this. But it was really entertaining and quite a worthwhile experience, I really do love this diorama. :love:

Truthfully, this honestly wasn't my first diorama. I made a couple of them when I was younger for school years ago. But I admit that I still had a hard time doing this, mainly because I was out of practice in this field. After all, my main hobby is drawing not crafting. Still, I did all of what I can do for it and made it as detailed as I can to make it realistic. I'm so happy to know you saw through the hard work I did, no matter how small some of it may be. :aww:

Thank you so much! :iconglompplz::heart:

Ha ha, I've notice that most of the dioramas do have the same theme as well. They do look wonderful, but most are just too identical and similar to each other. It is their fall memory though and I'll respect that. The style of this diorama is quite different, but it's my country's yearly tradition to celebrate Fall this way. :aww:

On a side note; This year was fantastic as well. Lot's of people came to visit their loved one's memorials and I've got to spend time with my family, old friends and even some nice strangers passing by. With that, I made more new wonderful memories of my favorite Holiday and it's fantastic. :love:

I hope I could win as well, Thank you so much for cheering me on. :iconheehee-plz:

I'm really very happy to know that you think this was fantastic. Thank you, :iconheehee-plz:

I've worked so hard on this and did everything I could do to finish it even if my condition wasn't in it's best that time. Though It did took me quite a while to finish this diorama, nonetheless, I really love this and I'm very ecstatic of how it turned out in the end. :la:

I'm glad to know you liked it too. :iconbowplz:
